Yoga prevents injuries

My husband is complaining about an injury to his back.  I get to hear his moans and groans with every movement.  Our fridge was leaking so it had to be pulled out from the wall and he made some movements that his body isnt used to.  Those muscles get tight and stiff if we don't practice full range of movement on a regular basis.

That is what we do in yoga.  Practice full range of movement.  Usually we feel fine..  like there's no problem because we move our arms and legs forward and back.  But then we fall.. or we have to bend over to pick.something up off the floor..

Or reach up high to catch the ball the grandson just threw and that movement is one we haven't practiced for a looonnnnng time. Ouch!

Yoga also gives us feedback.. in a controlled environment.  We carefully practice the movements and notice...wow...those muscles feel tight.  I haven't felt that spot In a long time.  I guess I'm not as fit as I used to be? Now I become more dedicated to my yoga practice.  🧘‍♀️

Even if you're not aspiring to some athletic practice you do need to keep your body on good shape to prepare you for the unexpected falls

Even just standing ..your muscles need to be able to support you. Then if the muscles aren't balanced...when you take a step you can fall.

Just sayin'...don't get duped into thinking that everything is fine if you are just doing front to back movements.   Use it or lose it!
